How does sub-surface ERT work?

Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is a smart and eco-friendly geophysical technique for imaging subsurface layers of the earth just as an MRI provides vibrant images of the human body. For sub-surface site investigation, ERT is used to survey soil and rock properties and existing / undocumented underground infrastructure in construction projects.
